Eight states have filed a lawsuit in California to block Nexstar's proposed $3.54 billion acquisition of rival broadcaster Tegan. The merger would make the combined entity the largest U.S. broadcast station group. California Attorney General, Rob Bonta, stated that the proposed merger would result in higher pay-TV prices and decreased jobs. The Federal Communications Commission has publicly supported the deal, stating it will proceed after President Donald Trump publicly endorsed it.
