Huge 5-alarm fire tears through Brooklyn warehouse; 2 firefighters hurt

A five-alarm fire broke out inside Universal Food Distributors in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, destroying the warehouse and seriously damaging two other buildings. The fire was so intense that the warehouse’s roof and interiors collapsed. Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries, mostly from smoke inhalation, and were transferred to a hospital for treatment. Over 270 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the fire. The cause of the fire will be determined by fire marshals.
