BYU defensive back Evan Johnson, one of the country's top cornerbacks, has chosen to stay at BYU over transferring to Michigan. Johnson, who was recently named the No. 4 returning cornerback in the country by the Pro Football & Sports Network and second-team All-Big 12 by PFSN, and honorable mention All-12 by the league itself. Despite a strong performance last season, Johnson chose BYU over San Jose State and other small-school offers. Despite some concerns among BYU fans and coaches that he might follow cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford and defensive coordinator Jay Hill to Michigan, Johnson decided to stay with the school and its coaches. He credits his decision to stay, stating that it was not a hard decision. He also mentioned that his mother, Lynn Johnson, has a day job as an agent to help recruit new recruits to Stanford.
