An Alabama college student and nurse April Ballard were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 65 in Pelham, Ala., just one day after their 20th birthday. The SUV driven by Ballard, a mother of three, collided head-on into a sedan driven by Southard. The Shelby County Coroner's Office is not ruling out drunken driving. It is believed that alcohol and speed may be a factor in the crash. A GoFundMe page is raising funds for Southard's family and his funeral expenses.
