Australia's largest iron ore company, Fortescue, is planning to fast-track its diesel elimination plans at its home base in the Pilbara region. The move is part of the company's decarbonisation efforts to achieve "Real Zero" by 2030. The company plans to complete its green grid by the end of 2028, which includes 1.2 gigawatt of solar capacity, over 600 megawatt wind generation and 4-5 GW-hours of battery energy storage.
