3 N.Y. Police Officers Injured Following Hours-Long Standoff with Armed Suspect

Three Syracuse police officers were injured following a lengthy standoff with an armed suspect. The suspect was reportedly actively firing at police and two officers were shot in the arm and a third sustained a hand wound. All three were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. local time on Saturday, May 9. The police department urged the public to evacuate the area and remain active as they investigate the suspect. Police Chief Mark Rusin stated that the suspect will likely be arraigned on Sunday, May 10.
