Netflix has announced a premiere date for its reboot of Little House on the Prairie, set several months before the show's debut. The series is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's novels and will premiere on July 9. The show will retrace the steps of the Ingalls family as told in Wilder’s semi-autobiographical books. Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine expressed delight at the opportunity to continue the story. The original series ran for nine seasons and 200 episodes on NBC.
