The issue of seniors being billed for fitness programs at rec centers has been highlighted on Channel 2 Action News, with some claiming they were promised $10,000 if they completed a fitness program and received a bill of $1,800. One senior citizen, Maggie McCullom, found out about the charges after receiving a bill from her insurance company. She said she gave her insurance information when she signed up for the Fitbit challenge, but had no idea she was being charged. The incident occurred when McCullom received an insurance bill from the insurance company claiming $306 per month would be charged to her insurance every month for the rest of her life. A letter from Humana Insurance's legal team accuses Our Community Health Systems (OCHS) of improper billing under Dr. James Rogan and another doctor of nearly $2 million.
