Zzaslow K-427, a black Labrador named for 9/11 victim Ira Zaslow, has been named the most decorated bomb-sniffing dog in U.S. Army history. He saved countless American soldiers from concealed bombs and landmines. The dog was born in 2005 at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and was transferred to the Department of Defense at 1 year old. He served for 10 years and was recognized as the longest-tenured and most decorated mine-detection dog of the post-9/11 era. The documentary, directed by Robert Ham, is set to screen at the Cleveland International Film Festival.
