Hands-on with ChatGPT's powerful new image engine

ChatGPT's new image engine, ChatGPT Images 2.0, has been tested by Axios for its improvements in typography, access to the Web, and ability to reason. The new model supports a wide range of aspect ratios and comes in both standard and a "thinking" mode with built-in reasoning. All users will be able to access the standard version of the image model, while the thinking mode is reserved for paid subscribers. Axios tested the new model for various tasks, including creating a memorial image of a deceased cat and a poster for a fictional event. However, some of these creations were less than elegant.
