An 18-year-old driver was killed during an attempted traffic stop by an officer in a marked squad car in Rolling Meadows. The officer lost sight of the vehicle and ended the stop and turned off his emergency lights. The vehicle was later found partially submerged in a shallow water. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by both police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
