Matthew James Sullivan, a 39-year-old Air Force veteran who had agreed to testify before Congress about secret government UFO programs, died of an accidental drug overdose on May 12, 2024. The death was caused by a lethal mix of alcohol, alprazolam, cyclobenzaprine and imipramine. Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) referred the matter for investigation to the FBI due to implications for national security. The FBI indicated that Sullivan's death could be under investigation along with those of several other missing or dead US scientists. The mysterious death raises concerns about potential foul play and the safety of individuals involved in this matter.
