A federal judge in Oregon has ruled that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. overreached in his efforts to restrict gender-affirming care for minors. Judge Mustafa Kasubhai, an appointee of former President Biden, found that Kennedy did not adhere to proper administrative procedures when he declared in December that such care was "neither safe nor effective". The judge also rejected a federal government motion to dismiss the case. This ruling is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to curb gender-friendly care for transgender youth.
