Voters will be considering property tax issues on the ballot in 97 counties in Missouri, including a proposal for a property tax cap on property tax increases in PLATTE County and Cass County. The proposal is aimed at reducing years to year-to-year spiking property tax rates for all tax payers. The HICKMAN MILLS District is asking voters to approve a $20 million BOND ISSUE to pay down debts and building maintenance. Other districts across the state have BONDS on their ballots, including BELTON, BLUE SPRINGS CENTER, GREEN VALLEY, INDEPENDENCE, LEE’s SUMMIT, PEC, and the HICKman Mills District. The potential tax increases on these issues could impact many localities and affect many of the state's tax jurisdictions.
