Brynn Carnesecca, a former pageant star, died by suicide just weeks before she was scheduled to compete again in the Miss Provo competition. Her mother, Michele Carnesecc, celebrated her daughter's life at a candlelight vigil in American Fork, Utah. Carneseck was crowned Miss American Fork in 2024 and was crowned as Miss Congeniality in last year's Miss Utah pageant. She also started a nonprofit, Envelopes of Hope, which connected incarcerated persons and the public through a pen-pal service. A GoFundMe page has been established to cover the family's funeral expenses.
