Over 60 residents were evacuated from a Santa Clara condo complex due to concerns that the building was at risk of collapsing. Structural engineers determined the building is not in imminent danger of collapsing, but will require repairs to shoring on its north side. About 130 residents will remain displaced while repairs are made. The building's developer and homeowners’ association will be responsible for overseeing the repairs. The evacuation zone was designated as a collapse zone and authorities closed El Camino Real between Pierce Street and Scott Boulevard, with westbound lanes reopened later in the night. The city is working with the American Red Cross to provide resources to the displaced residents.
