Howard University has achieved its first NCAA Tournament win in its history, defeating UMBC 86-83 in the First Four. Bryce Harris scored 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Ose Okojie scored a career-high 23 points. Despite a late rally from UMBC, the Bison managed to secure a trip to Buffalo, New York. They will next face Michigan, which is expected to contend for the title. This victory comes after Howard's coach Kenneth Blakeney led them to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 and 24.
