De'Zhaun Stribling, the 49ers' draft pick, was selected with the first pick of the second round at No. 33 overall and landed on the mainland from his family home in Hawaii. Stibling, who was described as a laid back guy, could potentially challenge the current group of wide receivers, which included Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and Jauan Jennings. Samuel, who played for Washington last season, is a free agent whom the team made no move to bring back. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that Stribler could assume the Jennings role as a big bodied receiver with the added trait of being much faster than Jennings. Strippling's philosophy as a receiver is to take on all comers and establish dominance against them.
