California wine country is celebrating sustainability in its 15th year with events throughout the state, including habitat tours, eco-focused workshops, and one-of-a-kind winery events. Nearly 30 individual wineries are hosting over 40 events, including festivals and passport weekends. Approximately 150 more wineries will participate across the state's winegrowing regions. The Wine Institute is promoting the month-long initiative, which celebrates the role of California winegrowers in advancing climate resilience. According to the California Wine Grape Growers Association, 90% of California wines are made in a certified sustainable winery and 65% of the state’s total vineyard acreage is certified sustainable.
