Three alleged members of MS-13, Joel Vargas-Escobar, David Arturo Perez-Manchame and Jose Luis Reynaldo Reyes-Castillo, are facing charges related to the murder of 11 people across California and Nevada from 2017 to 2018. The court heard that the three alleged El Salvadorian gangsters looked for people they could mutilate and abduct to enhance their standing in the gang. Assistant US Attorney Melanee Smith highlighted the brutal killing of 21-year-old Izaak Towery, who was stabbed 235 times after being abducted from the street in Vegas by knifepoint. Reyes-Manchee and Reyes- Castillo are also accused in the murder and attempted murder of 19-year old Abel Rodriguez. The trial is expected to last three months.
