Oscars Producer Addresses Cutting Off ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Team’s ‘Golden’ Speeches

The Oscars was criticized for interrupting the songwriters' acceptance speeches during their historic win. Walt Disney Television executive vp Rob Mills has now addressed the controversy, stating that the harsh cutoff during the best original song presentation has inspired his team to rethink their approach for next year. The songwriters, EJAE and Yu-Han Lee, were visibly upset and eventually allowed to finish their speeches. This is not the first K-pop song to win an Oscar and adds to the long list of accolades the Netflix film has received since its premiere last summer.
