Anorage residents are urged to vote yes to the Anchorage municipal bonds and special levy on the city election ballot. The city asks residents to contribute to projects outside of their tax cap each year, and these bonds ensure that they continue to invest in the community and maintain infrastructure. These measures have previously secured new fire trucks for the Anchorage Fire Department and major road projects. The bonds will also fund new fire engines for the Fire Department, life, health and safety upgrades at the Loussac Library, Performing Arts Center, and the Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center, along with enhancements at neighborhood parks across Anchorage. Other measures include Proposition 2, which addresses roads and drainage, and Proposition 6, the areawide public safety bond for a new ambulance for the Anorage Fire Department. The other municipal bonds on the ballot would fund numerous critical safety projects and improvements.
