Retired NASA astrophysicist David Leisawitz will speak at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, as part of a national lecture series. The event is hosted by the American Astronomical Society’s Shapley Visiting Lecturers Program, which brings astronomers to campuses and communities across the country to share their work and inspire interest in science. Leishawitz, who spent his career studying how stars and planets form and the conditions that may support life beyond Earth, will also participate in campus activities.
