In 2027, Major League Soccer (MLM) will undergo a significant shift from its summer-to-spring schedule, joining major European leagues. Teams will play 14 regular-season matches from February to April, with the top eight teams in each conference qualifying for the playoffs. This is a similar setup to the MLS is Back tournament held during the 2020 season. The 2027-28 MLS Season will begin in July of 2027 and will conclude with the MLS Cup playoffs in May of 2028.
