The Detroit Tigers have fired their Triple-A manager, Gabe Alvarez, due to a "violation of club policy". The club did not specify what the violation was. The team's hitting coach, Mike Hessman, will take over as interim manager. The Tigers are currently 17-16 in the International League West division.
