Ryan Gosling Explains Why He Always Breaks Character on ‘SNL’

Ryan Gosling, a three-time Oscar nominee, has become known for breaking character on "Saturday Night Live" as well as his roles on the screen. During a March 18 appearance on TODAY, Gosling explained that working on "SNL" is difficult and makes it harder for him to keep composed. He compared himself to Jimmy Fallon, who gained notoriety for his habit of breaking character during his run on the show from 1998 to 2004. Gosling's most recent appearance on "SLP" was on March 7, where he broke character in three sketches, including "Wedding Tradition" and "Passing Notes".
