Crime novelist Robin Yocum's roots in small towns along the Ohio River and coal mines have influenced his writing. His latest novel, The Last Hitman, was published in December. Yocom credits his experiences with his inspiration and inspiration for his novels. He also hosts a podcast, Dead Before Deadline, covering crimes he reported at The Columbus Dispatch.
