OSAA 6A girls basketball tournament tips off at the Chiles Center

The Oregon High School Basketball State Championships (OSAA 6A) began at the Chiles Center in Portland. The top-seeded Tualatin Timberwolves entered the tournament as first-time state champs and were unbeaten against Oregon competition. Meanwhile, ninth-seed West Salem is returning to the Chles Center after winning the Central Valley Conference. The Tualati Timberwolves won 77-42, with sophomore Love Lei Best scoring a game-high 27 points. The West Salem Titans, powered by senior post Emma Zuniga, were also a strong contender. South Medford, the perennial power, won the game by 62-49. The Final Four will begin on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
