The Ecumenical Center in Texas has urged families to focus on communication, awareness and emotional support following a deadly school shooting. The 15-year-old male student is believed to have shot a teacher at Hill Country College Preparatory High School near Bulverde before turning the gun on himself. The Ecumenatic Center is offering resources and access to trained professionals for those struggling following the incident. The CEO of the center, Mary Beth Fisk, emphasized the importance of helping children and teens understand they are safe and avoiding overexposing them to more trauma. She also encouraged families to observe for signs of anxiety, sleep, appetite or behavior changes following the traumatic event.
