The gun Lopez was using was reported stolen and the deputy was treated for burns to the face due to muzzle flash. Court records show Lopez had previously been arrested for concealing his identity during a traffic stop and released on April 13 to await trial. The case remains under investigation by the State Police Investigations Bureau. The deputy involved in the incident is not being identified.
