A smoke advisory has been issued for North Florida and Southeast Georgia, due to a rainfall deficit of 20 to 25 inches. This is not just a matter of concern, but also a concern for wildfires that have burned up to 5,000 acres in places like Putnam and Clay. The smoke advisory is particularly prevalent during the morning hours due to cooler air and calm winds. The best advice is to stay indoors and keep pets indoors, and change clothes once out of the area. Despite hopes for rain, it is not expected soon. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to remain above the seasonal average of 81 degrees.
