Lotto Winner Claims $533 Million Jackpot — Here’s What We Know About the Winning Ticket

One Illinois resident has won the first Mega Millions jackpot of the year, earning $536 million overnight. The winning ticket was purchased on March 10 and can be purchased for a lump sum of $245.6 million. This is only the second time in the lottery's 24-year history that it took this long into the new year for a jackpot to be won. The jackpot has now been reduced to $50 million, and it will continue to grow until the next drawing.
