The Sphere Entertainment Company reported a 40% increase in Q1 revenue to $386 million, driven by income from The Wizard of Oz at Sphere and residencies from The Eagles and Illenium’s Odyssey. The company's overall revenue rose by 38%, an increase of $105.8 million compared to the same period a year ago. The Sphere segment contributed $266 million to that total, largely due to higher per-show-revenues from The Sphere Experience film showings, brand events, concert residencies and sponsorship and suite licensing fees. Despite a decline in Las Vegas tourism, the company remains a key driver of tourism. Despite the ongoing conflict in Iran, Sphere CEO James Dolan said the next 20,000-seat Sphere for Abu Dhabi is on track and they are targeting an opening within four years.
