Jahangeer Ali, 34, of Pakistan is accused of using a medical testing laboratory in Oregon to bill Medicare for approximately $46 million in sham claims over six months. Ali claimed to own and operate the Oregon Clinical Laboratory in Klamath Falls, Oregon, for genetic testing, but it was found to be an empty storefront. He is also accused of setting up a similar fake laboratory in Utah in 2024. The fraud included submitting fraudulent claims from the laboratory to Medicare Advantage, even though no one had ordered the tests and no Medicare beneficiaries received any testing services from the company. The fraudulent claims were paid out over $28 million to the lab. The financial investigation continues to determine where millions of dollars went.
