Rose Byrne has received a Tony Award nomination for her role in Noël Coward's Fallen Angels, her first in the industry, after winning the Golden Globe and receiving an Oscar nomination in January. This follows her win in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and receiving a Golden Globe. This is Byrne's first Tony nomination for the role of Jane in Coward’s 1925 comedy, where she plays Jane, an upper-crust British woman who becomes increasingly intoxicated due to a steady stream of alcohol and lively back-and-forths with her friend Julia. The play has not been done for over 50 years on Broadway and is a comedic two-hander for two women. Byrne credits the play's writing for its unique portrayal of Jane and her return to Broadway as a true revival.
