Cuyahoga County Board of Revision has received about 1,400 formal complaints for the 2025 tax year so far, down from the previous year's total of approximately 11,000. Susan Dean, an 81-year-old homeowner, filed a formal complaint after her home was valued too high at $222,500, a 61% increase over its previous appraisals. She submitted a professional appraisal showing it had been valued high, which was accepted as evidence at a complaint hearing. The final decision on the property's value will be reviewed in mid-April, meaning that any changes will likely be reflected in their second-half tax bills. Complaints must be received or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
