Jack White, the lead singer of the White Stripes, has defended Taylor Swift's songwriting process in a post-mortem interview after suggesting that writing about "publicly aired breakups like Taylor Swift was "boring" was a turnipip. White stated that he does not find it interesting for him to write about himself and that imaginary characters are more appealing to him as a writer. He also praised Swift's success and other songwriters who have their own unique songwriting processes. He claimed that he has been made less interested in doing interviews due to the "age of this massive demand for click bait and content" and that any interesting material will be used for dramatic drama and "spit out as bait". Meanwhile, Swift is set to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame later this year, making her the youngest woman to be so far.
