Windy weather returned to New Mexico Thursday afternoon, with wind gusts reaching 55 mph at Angel Fire and nearly 65 mph at Clines Corners. Despite this, Red Flag Warnings remain in effect for most of the state, and temperatures are expected to be cooler along and north of I-40. Despite these breezy conditions, an elevated fire danger will remain in place. An additional round of strong winds is expected Sunday, leading to a significant increase in critical fire danger across the state. The calm weather is expected to continue throughout the week.
