After an eight-year period of rapid decline in Portland, Oregon grocery chain, Basics Market, has sold its last store to Market of Choice, which saw its Portland-area footprint reduced from six to just one. The last store, located in Portland's Hillsdale Shopping Center, is set to close next month. In January, Eugene-based grocery chain signed a letter of intent to buy the Hillsdale Basics Market and convert it into a small-format grocery. The acquisition is now complete, with no temporary store closures planned. The Hillsdale location, which opened in February 2020, will transition to the market of Choice banner on June 23.
