A Daytona Beach Police officer is accused of crossing the line with a handcuffed suspect, David Anderson, and may face consequences in court. The officer was caught repeatedly punching Anderson, but the police department's chief stated that whatever circumstances may have been behind it doesn't justify the officer's reaction. Body camera footage also showed Anderson throwing the cork of a liquor bottle at the officer before he was taken down. If the state attorney's office does not file criminal charges, the department's internal investigation will proceed.
