UCLA is the No. 1 overall seed in Region 2 of the Women's March Madness women's basketball tournament, having won 25 consecutive games. The Bruins, ranked first nationally in strength of schedule, have defeated 12 top-five teams this season, compared to only five for UConn. The selection committee voted to give UConn the top overall seed due to their 34-0 record. UCLA (31-1) will host the first and second round in Los Angeles, and the region semifinal and final will be played in Sacramento. The committee also voted on UConn's 34-match record. Meanwhile, Duke is expected to face LSU in the Elite Eight, with the Tigers being one of the highest-scoring teams in the country all season.
