The 2026 MLB season is yet to begin, with several players expected to be star-caliber performers in 2026. The most notable player is Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, whose strikeout rate has soared and his batted-ball metrics have dropped. Tanner Bibee, who was runner-up in 2023 AL Rookie of the Year voting, has been a staple in the Cleveland rotation since then. Despite this, he has only managed to manage a 2.53 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 32 innings this year. The Orioles' reliance on top-of-the-rotation additions may have been a misstep. Pete Crow-Armstrong was expected to perform well in 2025, despite finishing with 6.0 WAR and a 31-homer, 35-steal stat line last year. Despite a strong second-half performance, his aggressive approach is being exploited this year due to his 49.3 percent chase rate and expected batting average. Jacob Wilson's performance has raised alarm bells in Seattle.
