A billboard campaign in Allegheny County has been launched by non-profit group, Rights for GIRLS, to raise awareness about sex trafficking during the NFL Draft. The campaign includes billboards on Interstate 79 North in Bridgeville alerting drivers to the issue of sex trafficking. The nonprofit organization argues that sex trafficking exploits vulnerable women who are bought, sold, and controlled by individuals who are often targeted at major events like the draft. The group has previously launched billboard campaigns at major sporting events such as the Super Bowl. They warn of increased demand for commercial sex and sex tourism during these events due to the excitement and festivities associated with these events.
