The New York Mets defeated the Giants 10-3 in a game, but the victory was overshadowed by the loss of Juan Soto, who was unable to play due to a right-calf tightness. The Mets, who had been without Soto for three games, now face a further uncertainty about their $765 million outfielder's health. Nolan McLean dominated in the game, taking a perfect game into the sixth and allowing two runs, one unearned, on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Francisco Alvarez led the Mets' three-homer attack with two home runs. Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien also contributed to the win. The team was without Jorge Polanco due to an Achilles tendinitis and there are concerns about his near-term availability.
