Seattle, the largest city in Washington state, is known for its agricultural prowess and bustling urban life. The Emerald City is located in the northwest corner of the United States, far from the East Coast or Southern California, but few other U.S. cities compare to Seattle as it offers more natural beauty and urban life than any other major city. The best known Pike Place Market is located near downtown Seattle and offers an array of seafood, meat, and produce stalls year-round. Foodie fans can also enjoy the foodie's dream of Seattle, surrounded by mountains and water, with Puget Sound and the Olympics to the west and Lake Washington and the Cascades to the east. Water taxis can be used to explore Seattle from the water, and kayak and paddle boards can be rented for a walk on Lake Union. Despite the city's reputation for rain, Seattle actually gets less rain than any major American city.
