Tualatin native Winters Grady, a freshman on Michigan's basketball team, is out of the NCAA championship game due to a foot injury, but is still excited about the team's performance. Despite being shut down since January due to the injury, Winters remains optimistic about the upcoming game. He credits the experience to the culture of a championship team and his team's victory over Arizona. The last Oregonian to be a member of a national championship finisher was Ben Gregg with Gonzaga in 2021.
