19 people convicted over deadly Moscow concert hall attack claimed by ISIS faction

A court in Moscow has convicted 19 people of involvement in the 2024 shooting rampage that killed 149 people and injured over 600. The perpetrators were a faction of the Islamic State group, which claimed responsibility for the attack. The defendants were sentenced to lengthy prison terms, with 15 sentenced to life, one sentenced to 22 1/2 years, and three others given 19 years and 11 months respectively. The trial took place behind closed doors due to security concerns. Russian officials have claimed that Ukraine played a role in the attack, but it is vehemently denied.
