The Chicago Cubs have reportedly added another arm to their rotation, landing Clay Holmes in a trade with the Mets. Holmes, who hasn't pitched since May due to a fractured fibula, was seen as one of the better pitchers on the market this summer. This comes after the Cubs added Kevin Gausman to their already strong rotation. Holmes joins a group that already includes lefties Matthew Boyd and Shota Imanaga. The Cubs also acquired lefty David Peterson from the Mets and righty Edward Cabrera from the injured list. Despite the high cost of pitching at last year's deadline, the team president, Jed Hoyer, traded away six of the organization's top 30 prospects in a flurry of deadline deals.
