Kanye West, known as Ye, has filed a new motion asking a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to overturn the jury's decision to find him liable for over $100,000 in damages in his Malibu mansion trial. The motion argues that Tony Saxon, who initially sought $1.7 million in compensatory damages, was unfairly terminated and not paid. Despite this, the jury only awarded him $140,000 with no additional punitive damages. The judge's decision came after Saxon's lawyers argued he was unfairly fired after allegedly injuring himself on the job. Despite these claims, West's motion argues Saxon presented no evidence of physical harm and cannot receive damages as an unlicensed contractor.
