Stronger winds move into New Mexico Thursday

Strong winds have returned to New Mexico, bringing a high fire danger across most of the state. The strongest gusts are expected to be from 25 to over 45 mph, and the highest fire danger is east of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and in the Upper Rio Grande Valley. Despite this, temperatures are set to increase throughout the day, with temperatures reaching the 80s and 90s. The wind will continue throughout the week, with occasional breezy conditions expected.
